Speedtest

When I run Speedtest by Ookla I get more than twice the speed in Download, than when I try Shaw Speedtest.

Which is right and why is such an enormous difference?

@JSArato it will depend on the server it's connecting to, they may be different. Are you running speed tests via direct ethernet connections or WiFi only?

@JSArato -- let's assume that your computer is directly connected to the Shaw router.

Before you launch the Shaw SpeedTest, open the Windows "Task Manager", and select the "Performance Tab". Click on the "Ethernet" or the "WiFi" icon, to display its graph. Minimize this window.

Note that the Shaw SpeedTest will find the "optimal" server for the test -- usually in your own city/town, not anything "far-away" on the Internet, like www.fast.com or Ookla.

Launch the Shaw SpeedTest, and immediately "restore" the Task Manager window, and observe the instantaneous speed. On its graph, you should see the speed that you are paying for.

Tell your Alexa to stop streaming music, before you start the SpeedTest.
