Learn how to set up and manage parental controls on the Rogers Xfinity Stream (formerly known as Ignite TV App). The Rogers Xfinity Stream App includes the ability to set parental controls which allow you to limit the types of content available for streaming and download through the app. If you have the Rogers Xfinity Stream App installed on multiple devices, please be aware that parental controls must be set up individually on each device as they are not account based, and are separate from the parental controls you can set up through your TV box at home.
How to access Parental Controls in the Rogers Xfinity Stream App
Follow the steps below to access the parental controls with the Rogers Xfinity Stream App. For steps on how to set up and use the Rogers Xfinity Stream App, read How To: Use the Rogers Xfinity Stream App.
- Open the Rogers Xfinity Stream App on your mobile device.
- Click the Menu option from the top left of the app.
- Scroll down to the bottom where you will see the Shaw logo and the Settings (gear icon) option. Click the gear icon.
- Click Parental Controls.
- Move the parental controls toggle to the "On" position
You will need to set up a PIN to set up and manage Parental Controls.
How to set up a PIN
To set up parental controls in the Rogers Xfinity Stream App, you will first need to create a PIN. To set up a PIN for the first time:
- Open the Rogers Xfinity Stream App on your mobile device
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Parental Controls
- Move the parental controls toggle to the "On" position
- Enter a 4 digit PIN
This PIN will be required to access parental control options in the future, so please ensure that you remember it for future reference. Once a PIN has been set you can set your parental control preferences which include enabling safe browse, setting movie and TV ratings and locking networks and titles.

Lock features in Parental Controls
Here are the Lock features that you can set through Parental Controls.
Safe Browse
Safe Browse prevents the display of adult titles and descriptions. Safe Browse does not prevent the playback of content. To lock content with a Parental Controls PIN, be sure to set restrictions based on ratings and more.
Movie Ratings
Lock movies based on their ratings.

Admission restricted to persons 18 years of age and older. Content not suitable for minors. May contain frequent use of sexual activity, brutal/Graphic Violence, intense horror and/or other disturbing content. |

Suitable for persons 18 years of age and older. Persons under 18 may attend but must be accompanied by an adult. May contain explicit violence, frequent coarse language, sexual activity and/or horror. |

TV Ratings
You can lock television shows based on their rating.

Programming intended for viewers ages 18 and older. May contain explicit violence, extreme language, and sexual activity. Programming with this rating cannot air before the watershed (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). |

Programming intended for viewers ages 14 and older. May contain strong violence and strong language, and depictions of sexual activity as long as they are within the context of a story. |

Parental guidance. Moderate violence and moderate language is allowed, as is brief nudity and sexual references if important to the context of the story. There is no age range for the rating but it is considered around 10. |

Networks & Channels
This setting allows you to lock all networks and channels, or lock specific networks based on your preference.
Titles
Manage parental control locks on specific shows and movies. Titles added to this section of the app have been added to the list via the "Lock" option that is present while viewing a television show or movie page. To lock individual tiles, navigate to the Info page for that tile and tap "Lock".
Reset Parental Controls Restrictions
Reset any ratings, channels, and more. The Parental Controls PIN will not be reset.
