It's with much frustration that I post this here. The BlueCurve tv app on iPhone is so disappointing and hasn't worked properly for so long. Many shows (I'll use some on my favs list below as an example) do not update the newest episodes or seasons. Some episodes don't even mark that you've watched it and it's hard to say where you may have left off.
First example: On the case with Paula Zahn. On my iPhone (yes I have checked on three different iPhones not just one), it stops at Season 23 E4. If I login on a browser on PC or view on the TV, there are 25 seasons with 17Es. Second example: Hell's Kitchen Season 21 - on my iPhone there it stops at Episode 6 when online it shows 14 Episodes. These are two of many many examples.
There seems to be no consistency between iPhones, tablets (don't even get me started), online etc.in the smooth functioning of these device apps. You are losing viewers to programs because people cannot continue to watch them. Not having the programs properly refreshed to the newest content ends up in us ditching the program from our watch lists because we so dang frustrated.
I have been to support on a few occasions spending hours of time going through the issue and testing on various devices, uninstalling/reinstalling, clearing cache, restarting devices etc. only to be told there is no issue on their end, maybe it will resolve itself (well over a year I've been reporting this and NO resolution to date). Paying a lot for your service and I want to see a resolution. I've asked in previous support chats to have them escalate it the developers and they replied it's not Shaw's issue so thanks for your time but we can't help you. It IS Shaw's issue! If you are putting the apps out there for people to use, regardless if it's a third party running them, make sure they are running correctly.
If anyone has found a resolution to this issue PLEASE let me know or help me/your clients find one! Thank you.
@rfalk9 my iPhone shows HK season 21 up to episode 6 and the rest are listed as additional episodes below. Must be a problem with the iOS version of the app. As a work around, and if you have BlueCurve TV, just set series recording for the shows and watch them on the app
I have been recording Hells Kitchen but that's just one example of many many, In additional to the additional episodes (which appears to be a new issue), when you watch them, they don't get marked as watched. I don't want to record everyone. I want to use the feature of the favourites as it was intended. The app is refreshing in the background. The current version under Shaw TV setting on the app info on the current iPhone I am using is Version 7.4.0.940 (65f9dc2f5f).
