@sharoyer -- power-off the TV. power-off the TV STB (Set Top Box) by disconnecting the power-cord. After 60 seconds, reconnect the STB's power-cord, and wait for it to fully restart. Power-on the TV. Better?
P.S. Also, try fresh batteries in the Shaw Remote Control.
