How can I create a series recording based on a Keyword using the dcx3510-M? That is, I'd like it to record Vancouver Canucks games, but I currently have to manually add each game. On my previous PVR, I could get it to record any program with "Canucks" in the program name or description.

Yes, another shortcoming of the the HD Guide that the DCX3510-M uses compared to the guide on the older PVRs. The best suggestion I can think of is to use the Search function for the keyword "Canucks" and then set recordings for the listings that the Search function finds and that you want recorded. Recordings can be set up from within the Search function by highlighting a search results item, pressing OK on the remote and selecting Record Program from the pop up menu.
