Find the program and select OK/Record, select All Episodes.

You will see some options, and the option to record New Episodes Only, select Confirm.

I was dealing with the exact same issue and went back to fix all of my recordings that had suddenly started recording the same "new" show over and over at every time slot available and every channel available.  However, a few shows where I changed to specific channel, still record multiple times (possibly on the same channel) and often at the same exact time.  As well, there were some shows that there was only an HD or SD option, no option to choose a specific channel.  I thought that was very strange.  So I'm dealing with a few less repeats now, but still enough for me to be worried about excessive space used on my PVR while on vacation as it continues to tape some shows multiple times for no reason.
