Program Guide is wrong

Today is February 11. All the programming from the morning has been off. Usually by two to three minutes. Now on the Foodnetwork, Restaurant Impossible started halfway through the episode. Can't contact Shaw so I guess this is the next best thing.

@romanh -- can't contact Shaw

Welcome to this forum. This is a peer-to-peer discussion forum, not a path to Shaw Support.

Have you contacted Shaw (via the Shaw app on your smart-phone) or via www.shaw.ca/chat or telephone? What wisdom did they share?

Have you tried disconnecting the power-cord from your Gateway or BlueCurve PVR, waiting a few seconds, and then reconnecting the power-cord, to force the PVR to get the correct date/time, and to reload (sometimes takes an hour) the Guide?

Does that happen very often that you know about? I'm just waiting for the top of the hour to see if it sync's up.

I have another question if you don't mind. I was at the gym and they have Shaw cable there. I noticed that two of their three tv's had the Morning News on BCTV. But, one was about three or four seconds off. The one that was lagging had closed caption, would that slow it down?

In this case, closed caption is added to a live broadcast, so it should be in sync with the other TVs, the box just may need a power cycle.

I think that it is more likely that one TV was tuned to the High Definition channel, while the other TV was tuned to the Standard Definition channel.  I can observe this "lag" when switching from BCTV SD to BCTV HD. When switching definition-modes, my TV often shows "invalid format" for 1 or 2 seconds, before self-compensating for the difference in video-resolutions (SD versus HD) and showing the picture.
