Recent Gateway Glitch

I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced something similar and I'm hoping that it's just some sort of glitch and not a sign that my Gateway is getting ready to conk out on me. Over the last 2 weeks there have been 3 instances when my Gateway recorded the same program twice at the same time. All 3 times it involved a different show that I have set up as a series recording and all 3 times both recordings were complete. Another thing is that I have all my recordings set up to be kept " until I delete " but all of these double recordings showed up as " 'til space needed ". Is this anything I should worry about or just some of minor malfunction ????

@bostonbob Have you seen this issue come up again since you started this thread? Were the duplicate recordings from different channels, or do both copies of show as recorded on the same channel? Is the program description a specific one describing the episode, or just a generic overview of the series where no episode details are provided? You mentioned that all 3 times were different programs, but were they all recording from the same network, or different networks?

Valerie - no the issue has not happened again since I made my post. I called Tech Support after the 3rd time and was told that while this was not a common problem it has been reported in the past.

Each time the duplicate recordings were from the same channel and it happened on 3 different channels - KVOS ( Seattle ), Animal Planet HD and CTV Comedy HD.

I'm not 100% sure but I think all 3 shows were listed in the Gateway guide with specific details and series information. Each of the 3 double recordings came from the same channel and same time - one double recording came from KVOS, one from Animal Planet HD and one from CTV Comedy HD.

Yes this happening currently. Multiple recordings of the same episode even though setup to record new episodes only. Some are even recording on channels that are not part of my package.

Some of the blame goes to the broadcaster (ABC, CBC, etc.) who "tag" some episodes as "new" when they really are "repeats".  Rogers purchases their "Guide" information from an "aggregator" who merges all the information from all the channels. Rogers does not do this "aggregation", and thus cannot be blamed for incorrect information.

Also, for shows coming from USA broadcasters, e.g., "Blue Bloods", that are also available on a Canadian channel, it is possible that what is tagged as "new" (on the Canadian channel), meaning that this channel has never broadcast this specific episode might be tagged as "repeat" (on the USA channel).
