I know I sound like a broken record but Rogers does not allow Shaw customers to have choices regarding what cable equipment we want to use....I have a wireless one but simply prefer to wired cable boxes (the blue curve/ignite ones)....not because of any technical issues...it's because I simply prefer the wired ones....but Shaw under Rogers simply brushes off the concerns of customers like myself who prefer the wired ones...Rogers does not believe in letting customers choose which equipment we want to use.....(Btw submitting to Your Voice is pointless as they brush off our concerns)
Hi @acarnold909 , yup wishful thinking. The wired boxes are considered old tech and Comcast/Xfinity do not supply them anymore to Rogers/Shaw so of course Rogers/Shaw cannot supply to you. Also I believe Telus is all wireless now also but I could be wrong. Also it is a lot easier/lazy for all support to only have to concern themselves for a single type of box, for which they are pushing for. They are currently retiring all the legacy tv boxes that are still out there being used also, too many different systems running at the same time. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying this is a good thing or bad thing, just giving you some of the reasons. Oh and also this is even a worse place than submitting to Your Voice as there hasn't been a shaw/rogers employee on here interacting with us for a really long time, only a couple of us volunteers on here who don't even work for Rogers/Shaw. Im glad you had a place to vent though, good to clear the air.
Yes I guess your right....I guess I'm thinking that way because of the cost of my monthly bill for TV & internet.
@acarnold909 , well at least I hear you! Ahhh life!

Rogers/Shaw is not a "monopoly". Try other Internet providers (Telus, Bell, resellers).
Downgrade from "Total TV" to "Popular TV" or to "skinny TV" from Rogers, or other alternatives.
Switch back-and-forth between Rogers & Shaw, every 2 years, to get "new customer" discounts.
Our wifi in our home is poor even with Shaw/Rogers pods. We are very concerned as we are being forced to switch over to Ignite TV by Sept 9 as Shaw/Rogers is turning off our Shaw TV Gateway service.
thank you for your replies. yes I recall seeing many "Shaw-names" here in previous years.
It is Sad and disappointing that Rogers did not see the value and follow-up with this after the merger.
It is what it is ...
