Unable to delete programs (Motorola DCX3400)

question from my mom

when deleting recorded shows, the percentage of free space does not go down ... sometimes programs won't delete at all

is her machine messed up? would new cables help? 

if she needs to get a new machine, can we transfer recordings from her current machine to the new one?

@CHLaberge   Try power cycling the box and then deleting, see if there are any changes. 

You can’t transfer the recording if you need a new box.

weird bc i had called shaw and they said they'd have to give her a newer box, not the same one, and she wouldn't be able to transfer her recordings
