I have heard that the following channels will no longer be carried by Rogers effective January 1, 2025 (or thereabouts).
Detour, Dejaview, H2, Movietime, Nat. Geographic Wild, Treehouse, YTV, Cooking Channel, Food Network, HGTV, Magnolia, and Slice. Two of these are being rebranded Food Network>>Flavour Network, HGTV>>Home Network. Two are going off air - Cooking Channel and Magnolia Channel.
In addition, Bell Media is rebranding the following:
Discovery>>USA Network, Discovery Science>>CTV Nature Channel, Discovery Velocity>>CTV Speed, Investigation Discovery>>Oxygen True Crime, Animal Planet>>CTV Wild
Edit: I reviewed my last billing and no mentions of the above changes were mmade. However, HLN and MTV are both being removed (MTV is going off air).
All of these machinations are a result of Corus Entertainment loss of rights to certain programming, Rogers starting their own like minded channels, and Bell acquiring different content rights.
That is the nearest I can figure as I have not seen any notification from Rogers on any upcoming channel listing changes. I am subscribed to the Ultimate TV package.
I know Telus and providers in eastern Canada have notified their customer base of changes. But for some reason Rogers has not.
Can any of you gurus provide additional information?
@nanuuk Updates are on my bill. I am on Popular TV and HLN is being removed from the lineup and will be offered as stand alone. MTV is off the air as of Jan 1. I am aware that Food channel is being re-branded.
@nanuuk , I haven't heard a peep other than this press release from Dec.5/2024 Discovery | HGTV | Food Network | ID | Magnolia Network - Rogers Sports & Media Unveils Winter Sched...
I know the changes are coming to those served by Bell and perhaps Telus, and I think (but can't guarantee) they don't impact Rogers/Shaw. I would hope that if things were changing this dramatically we would have been notified specifically. I guess we'll see Jan. 1.
