@JamesRossW -- try disconnecting the electrical power from the Shaw Home Phone adapter, for a few seconds, and then reconnect the power, and allow it to restart. If that does not help, contact Shaw: 1-888-472-2222 for assistance, using your mobile-phone.
@JamesRossW -- how many telephone handsets (and/or base units) are in your home? Is one of them "off-hook", i.e., tying-up the phone line?
If you call from your mobile-phone to your home-phone, does it go straight to voice-mail?
