You can get notifications from your home security devices through the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app for a number of motion events. Learn how to turn on notifications for your Ignite Indoor/Outdoor Camera (Wired)TM or Ignite Doorbell Camera (Wired)TM and specify the type of activity that triggers a notification.

How to turn camera motion notifications on or off

These steps will show you how to enable and disable home security motion notifications in the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app.

  1. Open the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app on your mobile device.
    • Sign in with your Shaw ID and password if you're not already signed in.
  2. Select the Home tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the image for the camera feed you would like to enable notifications for.
  4. Select the Settings (gear icon) option in the upper right corner.
  5. Under the Notifications section, select the Notifications option.
  6. Select which type of notifications you would like to receive (People or All Events).
    • To disable notifications, you can select No Notifications.

Note: Notifications for motion events can't be archived or retrieved once dismissed; but you can still review all of your motion events from the last 7 days. Go to How to watch video clips from your camera for more information.

How to turn sensor notifications on or off

These steps will show you how to enable and disable home security sensor notifications in the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app. These steps can be used for motion sensors and door/window sensors.

  1. Open the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app on your mobile device.
    • Sign in with your Shaw ID and password if you're not already signed in.
  2. Select the Home tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Sensors.
  4. Select the sensor you'd like to configure notifications for.
  5. Select the notification you'd like to adjust.
  6. Toggle the switch on or off based on your preference.
  7. If desired, edit the Days of the week and Time of the day that you'd like notifications for this sensor to be active.

Note: Notifications for motion or door/window events can't be archived or retrieved once dismissed; but you can still review all of your motion events from the last 7 days by selecting the sensor and See today's activity.

How to turn doorbell ring notifications on or off

These steps will show you how to enable and disable doorbell ring notifications in the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app.

  1. Open the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app on your mobile device.
    • Sign in with your Shaw ID and password if you're not already signed in.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Find the doorbell camera and select the camera thumbnail.
  4. On the camera screen, select the Settings icon in the upper-right corner.
  5. In the Notifications section, turn the Doorbell Ring setting On/Off.
