Have a look at Comcast’s XB7. That will be your new super duper fast WiFi 6 modem.

I suspect that it will be a long time, before Shaw rolls out that model. They likely still have lots of the XB6's to deploy, before they add another modem to their lineup.

Even if you (falsely) told them that there was smoke coming out of your older device, until you powered it off?

I suspect that Shaw would ship you a replacement -- maybe the same XB7 that all brand-new customers get with their Fibre+ 500 service. Maybe, they will ship an XB7 to you?

When you return the current device, it probably will go into a pile of modems that their technicians will take, one-by-one, to "refurbish".  Will the technician check the serial-number, and contact you, to ask you why you returned it? Probably not.

Definitely not "good customer relations" to challenge you as to "why" you returned a perfectly-good device.

And I know a few people, including my father who got his today, that had their XB6 replaced free of charge. 🤷‍♂️

The XB7 supports WiFi 6 however none of my client devices do yet. With the 1.5Gb plan and XB7 modem/router I get 830 Mbps down on my 2013 iMac and 450Mbs down on my 2017 iPad Pro and 2020 iPhone SE.  Bandwidth is great though and my twenty five or so smart home devices and wireless TV boxes run along swimmingly. Looking forward to a new iPad Pro with the high powered Apple silicon, that’s should improve things in the download arena.

BTW: Uploads are running @ 107 Mbps consistently on all devices.
