We moved into a new home in December 2018 and our cable is still lying on the ground instead of being buried. We were told it could take up to three years to have it properly buried and connected. In the meantime it lies on the ground, is dangerous for people walking and when we get our landscaping done it will be a total pain to deal with. Does anyone else out there have this problem. Why should it take that long to get it serviced. We spend a lot on our account as all our services are Shaw including our landline. Getting frustrated.
If your landscape people show up before shaw does,
ask them if they can place it in some tubing and stuff it under the lawn,
that would be one way to secure the cable
If you get the landscaping company to remediate, be sure to contact your city's "public works" department, to inform them that there is buried cable. So, if it ever becomes necessary for the city to dig (sewers, natural gas), they will have a record of the out-of-sight cable.
Who do I talk to make sure we are on the list to get it done. I would hate to wait the three years and not on the list. This is ridiculous.
