cannot connect Canon MX532 printer by wireless to Shaw Hitron

Not applicable

Canon supports WPS connect - sees my Shaw network ID (i.e. name I can use with all my phones and PCs and Mac) but cannot connect.  Will not connect to Shaw wifi by button for WPS, or cableless on PC or manual setup via printer.  I can connect this printer to my Telus wifi network.

Hi nrenwick

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. Just want to check - have you gone into the Hitron settings to make sure WPS is enabled? You should be able to log in to the admin console by going to http://192.168.0.1

@klew as long as WPS is enabled, the printer should be able to connect. What error message shows up?

Please read all the previous messages in this thread, to find some good suggestions.

Or, look for the "Getting Started" PDF file on the Canon web-site, and follow its instructions.

HI All,

I just made below setting change in my router and it worked for me .

  1. Login to http://192.168.0.1/
  2. go to  Manage WIFI
  3. Go to basic setting >> 2.4 G
  4. On the Right side you can see Multiple SSIS Settings
  5. Under that look for Auth Mode and select Auto (WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK)
  6. Click save changes
  7. Please make sure that WPS Enabled is Off.

Once you save changes it will restart the router, then you can search for the router in Printer, it will prompt of option WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK click ok and then enter the password and then all set to connect to printer and printer.

I am using Hitron- CGNM-2250 router.

Thanks

I was finally able to connect my MX 532X printer to my new Shaw internet. Once I got to the "Wireless LAN setup" displayed on the printer and press "Ok", I went to press the WPS button on my router and then came back to the printer and pressed "Ok", then it connected.
