Anyone else mad you can't find this(email contact for support or security)?
Also that they are evasive regarding you going in and actually talking to someone in one of their outlets regarding something? Such as increase of $10 aprox. Also the police have their contact info if survivor of violence and yet they want a new item setup which if at your home poses risk as home invasion survivor and survivor of failure of emergency contact at the time. I'm concerned for safety and they wanted another item around I might be attacked for.
I'm being hassled by strangers about creation of technological items and such and it affects my provider too. They had a safety agreement for them under internet creators things and now these panicked people are attacking anyone associated with it on their usual 11 or 6 yr cycle when they get out of prison.
I was accessible to Shaw and other providers when the systems rolled out as were other people working on technology. It is disappointing they aren't easily accessed. I do know we discussed support options but your advanced chatbot posing as an agent wasn't a good option when I'm concerned on security issue and just have a simple question on a small increase. If you don't talk to me by all means talk to the security agents handling my case some of them are military veterans or were Canadian Services Agent. We survived yet these crazies still bother us for generations. Also the chatbot seems to ask questions it should know the answer too and ones I shouldn't be asked to repeat. In past chatbot moments it deliberately avoided asking those questions so I asked if they were behind a proxy then shut the window.
@ChipmunkChill Sounds like you have a concern or complaint best addressed at the corporate level.
Set up your message and direct it to Shaw Corporate. Someone will get back to you.
I wasn’t terribly happy when I could not send email communication to shaw. The other methods do work. What’s app is painful. 24hr message turn around. 😡 Chat works pretty good.
Hi there! I can understand the frustration of not being able to message us by email but we have some other quicker options to reach us these days - you can message us through Live Chat, Social Media or WhatsApp. There's a few shortcuts available on this page - https://www.shaw.ca/contact-us/
Please give us a shout! We're usually pretty quick to respond through all of the channels mentioned above.
Unfortunately, this doesn't address the OP's concerns, and doesn't address mine, either. The "support" available via those channels is seriously lacking in usefulness and integrity. Security concerns aren't a permitted topic at all. Neither are topics like changes to DNS (Shaw hijacking DNS queries to other servers), which customers absolutely deserve information and transparency about. There may be "quicker" options, but they are far inferior.
@janw -- changes to DNS (Shaw hijacking DNS queries to other servers)
What is the issue here?
DNS-servers are either "authoritative" or "non-authoritative".
Shaw is using "caching" with their DNS-servers, to provide quicker answers to "common" DNS-queries.
Example:
ca nameserver = j.ca-servers.ca
ca nameserver = any.ca-servers.ca
ca nameserver = c.ca-servers.ca
ca nameserver = x.ca-servers.ca
and
shaw.ca nameserver = ns9htok.shawcable.net
shaw.ca nameserver = ns7nocg.shawcable.net
shaw.ca nameserver = ns8socg.shawcable.net
or
com nameserver = m.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = f.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = d.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = e.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = b.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = l.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = c.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = j.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = a.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = h.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = k.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = g.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = i.gtld-servers.net
or
ubc.ca nameserver = hub.ubc.ca
ubc.ca nameserver = nightbird.eis.utoronto.ca
ubc.ca nameserver = dns3.ubc.ca
To use the Internet, one must trust that the above (distributed) DNS-servers have not been compromised.
What do you mean by "hijacked" ?
