I had a silent and fanless Hiltron from 2015 to 2023. I streamed F1 races for hours while my kid watched other shows on a different device. We almost never had a glitch. It basically never let us down even once. And the distance seemed to be better than this XB6.

I have noticed that during races, the HD cuts out more often than the old one did. I've noticed the internet suddenly just cut out sometimes. My family is noise sensitive. We can hear this thing humming away in the evenings. The heat concerns me. I don't leave papers near it even though the location is where a lot of paper is. It must be using more electricity than the old one. 

I just don't like this thing and it feels like a downgrade. I don't need to connect 100 devices. 3 max. That's it. What are my options ? I'd rather just stay with Shaw even though there is a silent Telus box built into this new house.  Can I go back to a Hiltron modem ? Is there any other modem available for my plan that isn't a noisy hot energy consuming contraption ? 

Can someone prove to me with data that this XB6 has superior distance than the Hiltron? Give me a reason to keep this thing other than the "connect 100 devices!" nonsense.
