The voice control feature allows even greater control by translating voice into Guide commands. This article will explain how to program and synchronize the remote control to work with Rogers Xfinity TV.

Quick setup remote pairing

Learn how to program your Rogers Xfinity TV remote using Radio Frequency (RF) Pairing. This method of programming your remote enables the "aim anywhere" functionality and is required for the voice functionality features of the remote.

After ensuring that your remote control has batteries and that your Rogers Xfinity TV box is turned on, you can program your remote by following these steps:

XR11 Rogers Xfinity TV remote:

  1. Press and hold SETUP until the remote light turns green green.
  2. Press the SHAW button. The remote light will start blinking green.
  3. Press the SHAW button again.
  4. Enter the number sequence shown on the TV by pressing the numbers on your remote control.

XR15 Rogers Xfinity TV remote:

  1. Press and hold the SHAW and Info buttons together until the remote light changes from red to green.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions until prompted to enter the three-digit pairing code shown.
  3. Enter the three-digit code shown on the TV by pressing the numbers on your remote control.

Pairing a TV set or audio system

Follow these steps to manually pair your Rogers Xfinity TV remote with a TV or audio system:

Using the Remote Setup feature:

  1. Press the A button to bring up the help menu.
  2. Select Remote Setup.
  3. Follow the on screen instructions.

If the on screen instructions are unsuccessful try using the code search method below.

Using Code Search (TV set only):

XR11

  1. Turn on your TV. 
  2. Press the TV button on the remote.
  3. Hold SETUP until the LED at the top of the remote changes from red to green.
  4. Enter 9 - 9 - 1.
  5. Press the Channel Up button multiple times (pause a second between presses) until your TV turns off. You may have to press Channel Up several times before your TV turns off.
  6. Press the SETUP button once to complete pairing.
  7. Turn the TV back on and make sure the Volume or Mute button works.

XR15

  1. Turn on your TV. 
  2. Press the POWER button on the remote.
  3. Hold the A and D  buttons at the same time until the remote light flashes twice.
  4. Enter 9 - 9 - 1. The remote light will flash twice. 
  5. Press the button. The light will flash twice again.
  6. Press the POWER button, then press the  Channel Up button multiple times (pause a second between presses) until your TV turns off. You may have to press Channel Up several times before your TV turns off.
  7. Press the A and D buttons together to complete remote pairing.

Un-pairing the remote

Follow these steps to un-pair your Rogers Xfinity TV remote. This will free up the remote to paired to a different Rogers Xfinity Entertainment Box.

XR11

  1. Press and hold SETUP until the remote light turns green.
  2. Enter 9 - 8 - 1.

XR15

  1. Press and hold A and together until the remote light turns green.
  2. Enter 9 - 8 - 1.
