We have been forced to move from an actual PVR to Cloud PVR. Tonight I tried to watch a recorded show that kept hanging, dropping, etc. I tried rebooting, refreshing, etc… all while waiting 2 hours for Chat support. Finally got an agent who tells me they are having problems with the Cloud PVR backend/servers. I ask where to check Shaw Cloud PVR status, so at least I know the problem is on their end, and don’t waste time trying to fix the problem. I am told that no status page exists.
So they force us to rely on a server for our PVR shows, but it is unreliable and they hide the status of it, presumably because they don’t want us to know how often it goes down.
Another example of the “value added” from the Rogers takeover I guess?
Another ex Shaw customer. I also experienced recorded shows freezing and sound dropping on Sunday. Have had intermittent brief sound drops in previous weeks too. Seemed to me indicative of network or cloud server overload. I opened chat session with Rogers support, the agent told me there was a nation-wide problem but was reticent about the details. When I asked him to check my network status he said that he couldn't access my account because I am ex-Shaw and on the west coast. The problem resolved overnight.
Just guessing, but soon after that we received the email introducing Xfinity (was Ignite). Coincidence or could that rollout have overloaded network/cloud servers? And all for a branding change; no extra functionality to be seen.
@Malquidas I agree, I was having issues around d the same time that they were rolling out the updated app, everything has been ok since.
@Malquidas wrote he couldn't access my account because I am ex-Shaw.
That makes sense. Since you are not a current customer of "Rogers Together With Shaw", your former account information is either "frozen" or "deleted".

That happened to me, a few days ago, very intermittently.
I just did a short "rewind" backward a few seconds, and the replayed the program, and I did hear the "missing" audio track.
