How do I disable Descriptive Video when streaming from Bluecurvetv.shaw.ca?
I noticed this a bit during the Olympics specifically on CTV2 channel, but it is still going (watching Seinfeld atm)
I can't seem to find an option to toggle this. All search results bring me to results for the cable box.
I confirmed that cable box does NOT have DV enabled (thinking it might carry over)
CTV2 seems to be the only channel experiencing this
thank you

Hey @Czarl ! I understand that you may have possibly turned the feature off with "SAP off", but I was able to take another look, and if you are logged into your BlueCurve Tv app and you are viewing a program, the direct solution is to access the "Player Shortcuts".
Please select the settings options, from there, select "Player Shortcuts" to bring up the multiple player commands. If the program you are viewing is available in video description, you should be able to toggle that feature on and off by hitting "V".
If you do continue to have trouble altering this feature, please give our Support Specialists a shout at https://www.shaw.ca/contact-us and they will be able to take a deeper dive if needed.
When signed into bluecurvetv.shaw.ca , click on the gear at the top right corner, which will bring you to the settings menu. Click on 'Accessibility', and turn off 'Video Description'.
thank you. I hadn't noticed that (I was looking for options when watching a channel)...but it was already set to "off"...I toggled it to see if that resets things
any other thoughts?
Hey @Czarl!
You should be able to disable the Video description via the progress bar while viewing the channel. More info on that process can be found here: How to enable Audio Description on BlueCurve TV
your link doesn't work.....but when I click on "Language settings", all I get is Closed Captioning...if I click on the gear icon, don't see anything to do with Audio description
I searched for the article you linked....that is referring to the set top box. I am talking about Bluecurve streaming on the web. Perhaps there is a bug that needs to be reported?
can you test my issue by visiting https://bluecurvetv.shaw.ca/ and watching CTV2 and seeing if you see any options to disable it?
thank you
When signed in and watching CTV2 for example... when you have the timeline pulled up, click on the message balloon at the bottom (which is beside the gear) and select 'Language settings'. You'll then see Audio Options, and change that to 'English'. See if that helps.
hmm...when I select English vs Espanol I get "SAP Off" message...so maybe that was it?
not exactly the easiest thing to figure out...but thanks
