Greetings, I live in Winnipeg, I have Ultimate TV (though I no longer see the TV plan listed on Shaw's website.) This plan has History Channel included.
These channels are located on channels 421 (History East), 422 (History West), 423(History 2).
Channel 421 History (East) apparently is no longer included in the History Channel package despite the Website clearly stating History Channel is included with this Plan. The customer support rep explained it was a "free preview". Something I feel their website falsely advertises and misleads customers.
I can still subscribe to this channel for an extra $5.00 but my point is the website clearly shows the History Channel included with this TV plan. No where on the website does it say History Channel East is not included and requires a separate subscription.
Has anyone run into this problem and if so how did you resolve it if at all? The Customer Support rep admitted they couldn't help me as they stated they were a tech rep and said they would direct me to their TV reps, which basically put me in another queue that would frequently disconnect and force me to sign in to the website. After waiting in queue for sometime I logged off figure I'll try again later this evening or tomorrow.
@rstraHi, yes, I get History West (channel 422) and History 2 (channel 423) but no longer get History East (channel 421).
@rstra Except its doesn't include History East channel 421....So not the whole History Channel package. Do you understand that, what you're trying to black and white here is that I get history channel and its included in the plan but you're failing to see that History channel has three channels and one of them is not included in the plan. In fact their website has no distinction or clear label or notice warning customers that its segregated into three separate channels and one is not include with the other two.
So if they advertise that a channel is included with a plan OR you pay extra for that channel package/theme/addon that channel package should include all of the package and clearly state on their website that some parts of that package are not part of the package, and in this case they do not do this History Channel, well at least for my location
It appears so from the fact I no longer get the channel I mentioned. Still doesn't absolve them of misleading advertisement.
@litho -- Although I am subscribed to the "Time Shift" group of channels, I do not get channel 421 (History East).
From the Guide screen, it seems to show the same content as channel 422 (History), only 3 hours earlier.
I do receive channel 423 (History 2).
Do you need to watch "live" on 421, or can you record from 422, and then watch it on the next day, to save you $5/month (plus taxes) that it would cost to add 421 ?
