We’re up and running again! Good job Shaw:)
thanks grasshopper!😎
@Means -- what’s happened ?
Possibilities:
* car crash into a BC Hydro pole, knocking it over, or stretching/breaking some of the cables between that pole and the next pole;
* BC Hydro power outage in Maple Ridge, causing all the city-wide Shaw network devices to lose electrical power, maybe caused by a BC Hydro transformer blowing up;
* crow flying into a BC Hydro transformer, instantly "frying" the bird, and causing some circuit-breaker to pop open -- this has happened, on the UVic campus;
* human error: some BC Hydro technician throwing the "wrong" switch. Also, think of Chernobyl -- where safety-overrides were intentionally disabled.
Some days, I get the impression that there is a GOD, because everything works as it should, despite "multiple points of failure" within the technology.
@mdk Per the service update, it was a fiber cut.
@rstra -- Thanks. I got "access denied" when I tried to view that service update.
Typical of Shaw to "remove/hide" a "stale" update. Gotta be quicker, I guess!
@mdk I think they want to forget it ever happened, it was a 24 hour outage.
