I am in the Beltline (Calgary). TV screen is black and cable guide shows all channels “to be announced.” I have reset the cable box with no success. I s there an outage after the Shaw maintenance done last night ending at around 6am MTD?
I see no outage in the Beltline (Calgary). Advise on next step to fix the black screen and “to be announced” cable guide.

Internet is working. I called Shaw support and disappointed to hear that Rogers has decommissioned my Shaw cable box. My Shaw plan is supposedly good until January 2025. Rogers is sending an upgrade to my equipment but it will not arrive for 2 days. No TV until then. Disappointing.
@MichelleGG There were snail mail, email, and cable box notifications about the box change.
I spoke with a Rogers agent in October about renewing my Shaw plan that ends Jan 2025. She did not say anything about my Shaw cable box being decommissioned prior to January. I spoke with another Rogers agent about 1 week & 1/2 ago & she also did not mention anything about my Shaw cable box being decommissioned. She in fact said I could renew with my existing equipment for about $5 a month less.
Disappointing.

True, but since your Internet is working, and your TV plan is still active until January 2025, you can try to "stream" all your subscribed channels on your computer. Also, with "Shaw On Demand", you soon will be able to access (on your TV) any programs on the day after they were broadcast, to "catch-up".
Also, on your computer, access the "CBC Gem" channel for all the CBC programs.
