@showse -- do you currently have a telephone-number linked to your cell-phone? If so, are you going to cancel that number?
Do not cancel your land-line, until AFTER you have talked to a cell-phone provider, and they have "ported" your telephone number into their network. Usually, that provider will also tell your current land-line provider to cancel that service.
Unlike when switching TV or Internet services away from Shaw, there should be NO financial penalty for cancelling your Shaw Home Phone service.
Once the number is "ported", all future incoming calls will go to your cell-phone.
Before you start any transfer, consider configuring your Shaw Home Phone service to automatically "forward" all incoming calls to your current cell-phone number, just to see how well it works to have scammer/phishing incoming calls routed to your cell-phone, interrupting your life.
