@Meeko1 -- where do you live? BC Hydro has had major outages, affecting thousands of customers, and providers like Shaw.
Blame very-dry trees (after a long, dry, summer, due to Climate Change) for being blown-over onto power-lines, instead of being able to "give" during strong winds.
