Doesn’t seem like you can do this on the app and everything is locked on the web interface.
I’m not looking for a DHCP answer, I want to set a static IP. Why can’t I do this anymore?
@Username35 You would need a business account to get a static ip.
@Username35 -- when you first connect the cable-modem to the Shaw/Rogers network, the cable-modem sends a MAC-address to Shaw's network, and an IP-address is sent to the cable-modem. That IP-address never changes, unless Shaw/Rogers "splits" your neighbourhood (too many devices too physically close) to improve performance.
So, in effect, you ALMOST have a "static" IP-address.
Even if you power-off the cable-modem for a few days, and then power it on, it sends the same MAC-address, and receives the same-as-previous IP-address.
