Why can’t I connect to certain websites/apps while I’m using my home wifi?
- all Shaw apps
- all banking apps
- some gaming apps
- some websites
I have checked protected browsing is off. I have reset my modem. My banking apps worked for one minute after I reset. Then back to not working. Uncertain why this is happening.

Try turning off “block pop ups” in your browser.

Can you take your WiFi-capable device to some other location with WiFi (ShawOpen? ShawGo? Starbucks? A&W? McDonalds? Dentist? Barber?), and try to connect to your sites? If you cannot connect, then it is NOT your "home WiFi" that is the problem.
Yes, I can connect to every site and app if I’m on a different wifi network, such as McDonald’s, A&W, etc. Or if I simply turn wifi off. I have to turn wifi off to reply to this Shaw thread.
No, I don’t.
My banking apps, Shaw apps, etc all just worked for a few mins. Faster too. Then gone. I’m turning off wifi to reply to this again. I don’t understand. I did nothing prior to it just randomly working for a few mins there. Completely baffled.

Try a "factory-reset" on your cable-modem/router, to eliminate any "filtering" of the MAC-address of your computer's WiFi adapter.
Did you ever solve this?? Having the exact same issue. Even received a new modem, same problem.
So frustrated, no device is connecting to apps or websites from my home wifi.
