@MarkHefford -- you asked a very-similar question in another thread on this forum. Check for responses on that thread.
Did you ever get an answer. I am having the same problem. I was told to unplug modem and disconnect cable. This worked for a short time. All works when I’m on Data but stops when on wifi. So frustrating.

So, routing through your Shaw cable-modem is different from routing through any other Internet Service Provider.
What makes the programming of the Shaw cable-modem any different? In this thread, one Other Person suggested the optional BlueCurve security-package.
Do you have a friend who also has the same model of cable-modem? If you connect to their WiFi, does everything work the way you expect?
So I had the same issue. New customer to Shaw - switched from Telus
Some apps on mobile devices worked, others didn't. (iphone, ipad, android phone).
Default Telus router IP: 192.168.1.254. I had setup manual (static) IP's on some devices including my NAS which had 192.168.1.1.
When I setup my shaw router, I changed the default router IP from 10.0.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 (I couldn't select the last octet as it was greyed out).
I had forgotten that my NAS had that IP as I always accessed it by host name.
So if you are getting similar behaviour, make sure that you do not have the same IP assigned to your router and another device!
How do I connect my wi fi
@nicknchung -- look at the label on the side/bottom of the cable-modem.
You should see an "SSID", which is the name of the WiFi network that the cable-modem has created, and you should see the password for that SSID.
On your device, select that SSID, and enter the password.
