First-time setup of voicemail
Voicemail is an answering service that is built into your phone subscription. Not all phone plans will include Voicemail by default, so please consult our information onphone packages at Shaw.ca to see what is included with yours. Follow these steps to setup Voicemail for first-time use, or check out the video below for additional support:
Dial *98 (star 98) on your home phone
You will be asked to enter your PIN, which by default is the last six digits of your account number (found on your bill).
Once you have entered your default PIN, you will be asked to set up a custom PIN for future use. This pin must be between 4-16 digits in length.
Enter your new PIN followed by the pound (#) key, and then re-enter it to confirm your selection
You can listen to your Voicemail messages in a variety of ways:
Home: Dial*98(star 98) on your home phone, then enter your PIN to access your mailbox. You can navigate this mailbox by listening to the prompts, or by using the key-codes described here:Voicemail Key Codes
Home/Away: Use the Phone Portal. (More information on this can be found hereMy Shaw Voicemail Access)
Away: Dial the remote-access mailbox number, then enter your personal home phone number and PIN when prompted. This method will allow you to check messages while you are away from home and are unable to access the Phone Portal on Shaw.ca
