Learn how to manage audio settings for Rogers Xfinity TV (formerly known as Ignite TV). Language settings like secondary audio programming and menu language can all be set through your language settings in Rogers Xfinity TV.
The quickest way to access language settings is by pressing the microphone button on your Rogers Xfinity TV Remote and saying "Settings" and then using the arrow keys to select "Language."
Setting your audio language
You can change the audio language of a program to your preferred language (if available) through the Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) setting.
- When watching a program, press the OK button on your remote.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Audio Options (SAP icon) and press OK.
- Select your language from the list and press OK.
Your language options may include:- English
- Spanish
- Video Description
- French
- Canadian French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Press Exit on your remote to return to programming.
Note: Not all programs have a secondary audio soundtrack available for all languages. Channels will sometimes choose to place a video description audio track on a specific language (i.e., Spanish) track.
Resetting your audio language
To clear your device of SAP audio language settings across all programs:
- Press the Shaw, Rogers or Menu button on your remote control.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press OK on the remote.
- Use the down arrow to highlight Language and press OK.
- Use the down arrow to highlight Audio Language (SAP) Reset and press OK.
You can also find this option in Device Settings under Audio.
Setting the menu language
You can change the language for the menu and guide navigation using the Menu Language setting. The current options are: English (US), English (Canada), Français (Canada) and Español (US).
- Press the Shaw, Rogers or Menu button on your remote control.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press OK on the remote.
- Use the down arrow to highlight Language and press OK.
- Using the down arrow on your remote, highlight Menu Language and press OK.
- Use the down arrow button on your remote, highlight English (US), English (Canada), Français (Canada) or Español (US) and press OK.
- To confirm the change, highlight OK on the screen and press OK on your remote control.
Language settings will now be updated for:
- Main menu
- Programming information in the guide
- Record options
- Settings menu
- Search

Setting the audio mode
The audio mode feature allows you to choose between stereo and surround sound audio. Audio options can be accessed through Device Settings.
- Press the Shaw, Rogers or Menu button on your remote control.
- Use the right or left arrow buttons to highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press OK on your remote.
- Use the arrow buttons to highlight Device Settings and press OK on your remote.
- Use the down arrow on your remote to highlight Audio. Press OK.
- Use the down arrow to choose HDMI Audio Output. Press OK.
- Use the down arrow on your remote to select Stereo, Auto Detect or Expert Mode and press OK.
