The Pace Whistler is a high definition TV box with PVR functionality, capable of ... accessing Video On Demand.
Its disk-drive's capacity is 160 GB.
Later this year, the Pace Summit also will be retired.

This reminds me that I really have watch everything on my old 3416 before that model gets retired too. I still have about 5 or 6 movies from Movie Central ( remember those guys !!!! ) still on that machine. I'm actually afraid to unplug it as the content might just disappear. 😲

Pace boxes were the worst pieces of crap.
@bostonbob -- if you unplug it, will the disk-drive stop, and "seize", and never ever spin-up again? Hmm.
I see that the 6416, not your 3416, will be retired in "early 2021". No announced "sunset-date" for your PVR. YET.

Not completely sure but I seem to remember hearing something about about it being possible.
@bostonbob -- it being possible.
Not only possible, but it has happened to me -- the disk-drive would spin, but nothing could be read.
I did have a "clone" of the failed disk-drive, set aside. Guess what. It too failed.
Sigh.
The Pace Summit was retired on January 14, 2021.
Another Shaw web-page confirms the date.
