@thunderspit -- I doubt that any Shaw employee who wants to keep their job will give you any information about any "company confidential" developments.

Have you tried the cloud PVR feature. I have found that technology to work pretty well.

But still no 30 second skip forward and 10 second skip back buttons on the BlueCurve - IMO that's a big miss.  Also the rewind through buffer on a non-current channel as long as one of the tuners is on it.

@abdba To adjust the skip length to 30 seconds: Press EXIT - EXIT - EXIT - 0 - 0 - 3 - 0 on the BlueCurve TV remote. Adjusted skip length will be 30 secondsforward and 15 seconds back on Live TV, PVR recordings and On Demand content.

@rstra , where is the skip forward button (on the 2017 model)?  https://support.shaw.ca/t5/tv-articles/bluecurve-tv-remote-control/ta-p/4975

BTW, I'm still on Gateway but my parents are on BlueCurve with the 2017 remotes.  (Though I can't go over there to try your suggestion right now because of lockdown restrictions.)

Have you tried using "voice input" to achieve the "skip forward" function?
