How to set up Google Chromecast
Follow these steps to set up Google Chromecast.
Plug one end of the USB power cable into your Chromecast, and the other end into the power supply, and then into a nearby power outlet
If you do not have access to an open outlet, you can also power the Chromecast by plugging the USB power cord directly into an open USB port on your TV
Plug your Chromecast into any open HDMI input on your TV
Once you have connected your Chromecast, you will see the Chromecast home screen and you can follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup. For more information on this setup process, please see the following: Google: Set up your Chromecast device
In order to connect your Google Chromecast to your home wireless Internet, you will need to first obtain your wireless network name, and network password. If you are using a Shaw wireless modem, you can find this information listed on a white sticker the top of the device, labelled SSID and Passphrase/Password (example below).
When prompted, enter your network name and password to connect to your home Wireless Internet network.
