Email setup on Android devices

If you just got a new Android device, getting your Shaw email set up is one of the first things you’ll do.

  1. Visit the Android support website
  2. Select your device model or manufacturer from the list.
  3. Follow the instructions to finish setting up email on your Android device.

These are the (IMAP) email settings we recommend you use, when asked:

Account Type: IMAP
Username: Your Shaw email address without @shaw.ca
Password: Your Shaw email password
Email address: Your Shaw email address
Incoming Server Name: imap.shaw.ca
Incoming Server Security Type: SSL
Incoming Server Port: 993
Outgoing Server Name: mail.shaw.ca
Outgoing Server Security Type: TLS
Outgoing Server Port: 587
Domain: shaw.ca

To use Shaw's POP3 incoming mail server, use these settings:

Incoming mail server and settings:
Incoming Mail Server: pop.shaw.ca
Server Type: POP
Security Type: None
Port: 110

Encrypted incoming mail server and settings:
Incoming Server: pop.shaw.ca
Server Type: POP
Security Type: SSL/TLS
Port: 995

If you’re setting up Exchange ActiveSync, use these settings:

Email address: Your Shaw email address
Domain: shaw.ca
Username: Your Shaw email address, without @shaw.ca
Password: Your Shaw email password
Exchange server: wm.shaw.ca
Use secure connection (SSL): Yes
Use client certificate: No
