I'm sick of getting these messgaes every other day. I always delete Trash & Junk and most Sent in Webmail. I have others which I wish to keep. I and many others don't know why this is happening now. Why has our quota been reduced? It must have been because we used to have at least 3,000 in our Inbox and probably as many again in Trash and Sent. We can't manage with this set up. I have deleted important e-mails to keep Shaw happy. Time to switch to Telus for Fibre optics and streaming and g-mail for e-mail.
If you use Microsoft Outlook on your computer to connect to Shaw's mail-server, Outlook has the capability to create "local storage" mail-folders. So, drag-and-drop some messages from your "inbox" folder on Shaw's server to a folder that you have created on your own computer. That will keep those messages on your computer, instead of using-up some of your quota on Shaw's mail-server.
I am having this issue as well. I spent over an hour on chat last night. Erased all emails all folders and still showed 90% full. Today I spent over 2 hours begging agent on chat to put me through to supervisor as I figured it was a Shaw issue and the agent said he couldn't put me through. I asked for a phone number and he wouldn't give me it. He kept telling me to check sent folder, trash folder, deleted folder etc etc. I explained I had done that many times and have 0 emails - 0. I finally ended chat as agent refused to listen. Very frustrated. Finally phoned and spoke to agent in Montreal - was on phone approx. 1 hour only to be told he had to send isuue to higher up and it should be resolved within a couple of days. I now have a case file. 4 hours of my life wasted!!!! Thanks Shaw!
Other people on this forum have suggested logging-in to Shaw WebMail, to see if there is any messages in any folder.
Move the mouse-pointer over a folder-name, and let it "hover", to see something like "69 messages occupying 96 megabytes".
Also, after deleting from "Sent", open "Trash" and then "permanently delete" those messages that previously were in "Sent".
