Learn how to set up parental controls for YouTube on Rogers Xfinity TV (formerly BlueCurve TV). There are a few different ways to use parental controls for YouTube on Rogers Xfinity TV; access to the app can be fully restricted via Rogers Xfinity TV parental controls, or a restricted mode may be enabled in the YouTube app itself to restrict content therein.

Rogers Xfinity TV Parental Controls

You can restrict access to the YouTube app using the Application Lock setting in Rogers Xfinity TV parental controls. For more information on using Rogers Xfinity TV parental controls, see Rogers Xfinity TV - Parental Controls.

Application Lock

  1. Press the Shaw button on your remote
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Parental Controls
  4. Select Application Locks

  6. parental control PIN will now be required to access the YouTube app.

YouTube restricted mode

You can also restrict content from within YouTube using the “Restricted Mode” provided by YouTube: Restricted mode hides videos that may contain inappropriate content flagged by YouTube. Note that a parental control PIN is not required to enable or disable restricted mode in the YouTube app.

  1. Open the YouTube app on Rogers Xfinity TV
  2. Select Settings from the side menu
  3. Highlight Restricted Mode and press OK on the remote to enable it
