BlueCurve TV with wiremesh & stucco in some interior walls

what is the Shaw solution for lathe & plaster with wire mesh in some interior walls. We live in a 1940s home with an addition. Some of interor walls have wire mesh like chicken wire. Replacing the walls is $15K or more jib.

shaw Bluecurve Modem with pods loses a lot of signal strength through some of the walls.

https://linustechtips.com/topic/959759-best-wifi-solution-for-house-with-chicken-wire-in-the-walls/

here is a post from someone esle that helps to explain.

As Pods can not be backhaul connected with ethernet calbes, how do we get 4K TV and also good wifi bandwidth for our other devices on both sides of the wire mesh interior walls. we have 1.5gb service.

some suggest using other networks that support ethernet but as I read it Shaw BlueCurve TV only runs in Shaw BlueCurve wifi network.

We currently use Shaw coax TV Gateway and coax terminals but we were informed recently by Shaw tech support that it will soon (perhaps a few months)  be gone in Victoria area.

@tc10 -- presumably, you have electrical wiring in every room in your house.

So, take a look at: https://www.bing.com/search?q=network+over+powerline

to use your house-wiring to carry your network traffic.

we were informed recently by Shaw tech support that it will soon (perhaps a few months) be gone in Victoria area.

I did look at:  https://support.shaw.ca/t5/tv-articles/about-legacy-tv-box-upgrade-program/ta-p/9242

and there is no announced plan to "retire" your Shaw TV box.

Does your house have an accessible "attic"? If so, a technician can pull cables across the attic, i.e., above the chicken-wire, and "drop-down" coaxial cables, inside the walls, to create new wall-ports with an Ethernet socket, and/or a coaxial-cable socket.

@tc10  You could use other wifi extenders with your BlueCurve. I have a Dlink mesh extender, it also has an Ethernet connection that you can use as a back haul connection.

@mdk

I do already have ethernet cables that go across between the two sides and a Netgear Orbi RBR50 mesh network.

To clarify,  does Shaw blue curve TV work with non-BlueCurve TV networks.
I have seen other posts here I think that say it must be Shaw blue curve network to work for Shaw blue curve TV.  I will look for a link.
Could I run the shaw blue curve TV Wi-Fi system on my Orbi Nash net work?

Re: the end of life for my Shaw TV gateway, thanks for your info.
It was a Shaw TV tech-support that said to expect the change to start soon.
I see similar posted of this started  in progress “in some areas” of Calgary and Edmonton and Vancouver.

this post raised my concern and requires me to get started on finding something that will work in my older home with the new TV systems

I found a solution in Shaw discussion that looks to work BUT it is not supported by Shaw so if problem such as pixelation, etc. they cannot troubleshoot

https://support.shaw.ca/t5/internet-discussions/will-4k-tv-player-work-with-3rd-party-router/td-p/37...

This is similar as @rstra and @mdk advice.Thank you. 👍

All helpful but not a Shaw supported solution for older or newer homes with wifi interference.

This s definitely helpful. My wife prefers a Shaw supported solution. 🙂 😀
