If you are having difficulty connecting to the Internet, there could be a number of reasons why, including: an offline modem, hardware failure, or a settings issue. Try power cycling your Internet equipment by unplugging the power cord for the device from the outlet, waiting a short time, plugging back in, and then restarting.
To connect your PS4 system to the Internet through your wireless network (WiFi), you will first need to make sure you know your network name (SSID) and password. If you are using a Shaw wireless router, you can find these details listed on the top of the device as SSID and Password (shown below). If you have changed this information, please use your new network name and password. Once you have secured this information, proceed with the following setup:
Choose Set up Internet Connection.
Select Use WiFi and then choose Easy.
Select your wireless network (SSID) from the list and enter your password.
Select default settings for any remaining choices.
Your connection will now be set up.
