Two-step verification is a security measure for your My Shaw account. To ensure any sensitive information is protected, customers are required to set it up. Once enabled, or account-related changes will trigger a 6-digit verification code sent to you via SMS or email. This code will then grant you access to your account.
Note: The My Shaw app is not supported on iPads. If you wish to access My Shaw using your iPad, you can do so via Safari or Google Chrome.
About two-step verification
Two-step verification is a great measure to keep your information safe.
- You will be prompted to enter a verification code when you make certain changes in My Shaw.
- When you choose to trust a browser or a device, you will not be prompted to enter a code for a period of 90 days. However, you will be prompted to enter a code again:
- After 90 days.
- If you’re doing high-risk changes to your account.
- When you use a new browser/forget all browsers.
- If you successfully provided a code and your session expired (120 minutes of inactivity), you will be prompted to enter a code again.
Set up two-step verification
The first time you set up your Shaw ID, or sign in to My Shaw (app or website), you will get a prompt to set up two-step verification for your account. If you skip the set up that first time, you can still enable two-step verification by following the section called Edit a two-step verification method.
