This article will help you set up and activate your Shaw TV Player (DCX 3200-M or DCX 3510-M HDPVR). If you are setting up a BlueCurve TV Player, click here.  Or if you are setting up a wireless 4K BlueCurve TV Player, click here.

What’s included

A remote, HDMI cable, power cord, and coax cable are included with your TV Player. If something is missing from your kit, let us know. A 2-way splitter is not included but can be requested.

Note: Before you begin please remove any plastic wrapping from your TV player

Connecting your TV player

  1. Attach a coax cable from the coax wall outlet to the CABLE IN port on your TV player.
  2. Connect the HDMI cable from your player's HDMI port, to one of your TV’s open HDMI IN ports. Make note of which HDMI port you select on your TV
  3. Attach the power cord to the back of your TV player and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  4. Press the power button on the front of your TV player to turn it on.
  5. Turn on your TV and set it to display the HDMI source you selected in Step 2.

Activating your TV player

Once coax and power are connected, your TV player will activate automatically—the activation process can take up to 15 minutes. During this time, various messages (eg. BOOT, OCAP, CH IP, noIP, APP, PSLd) may display on the front of your player. Activation will be complete when the time is displayed on the front of the player.

The player can be powered back on by pressing the power button on the front panel, or by using the remote control.

How do I program my Shaw TV player remote for my TV?

To program your Shaw TV player remote to work with your TV, follow the Quick Setup instructions on the back of the remote, or visit the manufacturer's website at urcsupport.com/shaw.

Can I place my HD Guide TV player out of sight?

Yes. On compatible units, if you want to keep your player out of sight (eg. in a cabinet or closet) plug the IR Receiver into the EXT IR IN port on the back of your player. Then place the IR Receiver where your remote’s signal will have a clear line of sight with the IR Receiver.
