Voicemail service is included with all Shaw Mobile rate plans and allows callers to leave you a message when you’re unavailable.

The Voicemail service included with your Shaw Mobile rate plans varies by plan type:

Standard Voicemail

Stores up to 5 messages

Stores up to 50 messages

Voicemail+

Standard Voicemail
includes a storage period for up to 5 days (new) and 5 days (saved) with a maximum message length of three (3) minutes as well as storage of up to 5 greeting messages, 32 seconds in length each.

Voicemail+ includes a storage period for up to 30 days (new) and 90 days (saved) with a maximum message length of three (3) minutes as well as storage of up to 5 greeting messages, 32 seconds in length each. 

Standard Voicemail can be upgraded to Voicemail+ online in My Shaw Mobile for an additional monthly fee. To upgrade:

  1. Log in to My Shaw Mobile
  2. Go to Plan & Device Details and select Purchase Add-Ons
  3. Find Voicemail+ and select Add to my Plan
  4. Agree to the terms and conditions, then select Confirm

Accessing Voicemail

The steps to access Voicemail will vary based on the mobile network you are connected to when retrieving your messages:

Accessing Voicemail is easy, regardless if you’re connected to Shaw Mobile, on WiFi Calling, or even while roaming domestically on the Nationwide network or internationally. Just remember, when checking your Voicemail while roaming, charges may apply depending on your rate plan or Add-Ons.

The default Voicemail password is the last four digits of your Shaw Mobile number. When you access your Voicemail for the first time, you will be promoted to set up a new password.

If you have lost or forgotten your password, reset it only in My Shaw Mobile or contact us for assistance.

To access Voicemail from your Shaw Mobile phone, use the following steps:

  1. Either press and hold the 1 key, dial 777, or follow Voicemail notifications prompts provided on iOS and Android devices
  2. Follow the available prompts in the greeting menu

Fast access to Voicemail messages

When you’re connected to the Shaw network (or using WiFi Calling) and someone leaves you a Voicemail message, we’ll send you a text message notification. This notification includes a 5-digit number (i.e. 00021) that you can dial directly from your phone to immediately listen to the message and bypass Voicemail menu options.

From another phone

  1. Dial your Shaw Mobile phone number
  2. Press the * (asterisk) at any point during the Voicemail deposit greeting
  3. Enter your Voicemail password to access your Voicemail

 

Navigating your Voicemail messages

Once you are dialed into your Voicemail service, you may use the options below to navigate your messages:

  • Press 1 to begin listening to a new message
  • Press 2 to Pause
  • Press 3 to Fast Forward
  • Press 5 to replay this message
  • Press 7 to delete this message
  • Press 9 to save this message
  • Press # to keep this message new

Press * to return to the previous menu

Personalizing your Voicemail Settings
To personalize your voicemail setting including your playback preferences or language, follow the steps below:

  1. Dial into your Voicemail service
  2. Press 4 to access the personal preferences menu.
  3. Press 4 again to begin modifying your personal preferences, use the options below to make changes:
  • Press 2 to change playback preferences.
  • Press 3 to access the playback name.
  • Press 5 to change the language for instructions and prompts

Troubleshooting Access to Voicemail

If you are experiencing issues accessing your Voicemail:

  1. Confirm you have the correct password
  2. Log into My Shaw Mobile
  3. Go to Profile and select Edit on Voicemail Password
  4. Enter your account login PIN and your new Voicemail Password, then select Save

Troubleshooting Call Forwarding to Voicemail

If you are experiencing issues with calls not forwarding your Voicemail:

Apple iPhone

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select Phone
  3. Tap on Call Forwarding
  4. Ensure Call Forwarding is switched OFF
    • This option is for unconditional Call Forwarding

Samsung Phones

  1. Navigate to Phone
  2. Open the menu
  3. Select Settings
  4. Choose the option for Voicemail
  5. Tap on Voicemail settings
  6. Double check that the Voicemail number is set to:
    • +1-647-700-1777 for retrieving voicemail, and
    • +1-647-700-1778 for depositing voicemail


All Other Android Phones

  1. Navigate to Phone
  2. Select More
  3. Tap on Calls
  4. Choose the option for Call Forwarding
  5. Ensure the desired scenarios are forwarded to:
    • +1-647-700-1777 for retrieving voicemail, and
    • +1-647-700-1778 for depositing voicemail
