Installation

If you need more than one TV connected, a professional installation will be required. Contact us to book an appointment.

1. Connect your HDPVR:

  1. Write down the HDPVR's serial number. The serial number is located on the back of the HDPVR and starts with the letter “M”.
  2. Place the HDPVR in a well-ventilated location.
  3. Connect the cable cord to a wall outlet, and to the CABLE IN port at the back of the HDPVR.
  4. Connect the HDMI cable to “HDMI Out to TV” on the back of the Gateway and to an HDMI port on your TV. Remember the TV port.
  5. Connect the power pack to the back of the HDPVR and plug it into a power outlet. The HDPVR will power on automatically.

2. Activate your HDPVR:

  1. Turn on the TV and tune it to the matching HDMI input you selected earlier.
  2. When you see, “To set up this Shaw Gateway...” on the TV, continue to the next step.
  3. Sign in to your account at my.shaw.ca.
  4. Once signed in, click TV in the left panel. Then click Self-Install TV Equipment in the TV Equipment section and follow the instructions.

During the activation process, the HDPVR will reset (the screen may go black or freeze momentarily). When you see the time displayed, and the blue power icon is lit on the front of the HDPVR, the activation process is complete.
